Why is our Caring Deodorant Allergy Certified?

Did you know that almost 30% of all people in Europe has a skin allergy?

For the development of our Caring Deodorant we partnered up with @AllergyCertified. AllergyCertfied is an international allergy label. It has been founded because there was a need for exactly that; an international label that consumers all over the world can look for when they want to minimize the risk of getting skin allergy. Because they work with health, they decided to not only check for allergens, but all impurities, carcinogens and endocrine disrupting chemicals.

 

Why is this important?

Skin allergy (or contact dermatitis as your doctor would call it) is one of the most common chronic diseases and whether you live in the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, England, Singapore or New York, there will be ingredients in your cosmetic products, skincare products, shampoos, detergents, glasses, clothes, toys, etc. that you can have an allergic reaction to or can expose you to endocrine disrupting or carcinogenic chemicals.

 

Why developing an Allergy Certified deodorant?

Skin absorbs up to 60% of the skincare you put on your skin. Skin under your arms takes up even more than other parts of skin, so that's why we believe you should be extra careful about the ingredients in your deodorant. Especially when your have sensitive skin.

The skin under your arms is also enclosed, which makes it easier for ingredients to be absorbed. Your arm pits also maintain a ton of hair follicles, where ingredients can penetrate the skin and pile up, in order to be released gradually. In case you get skin irritations from a specific deodorant, these irritations can remain also after the use of the deodorant.

We chose to leave out perfumes (both chemical and natural perfumes) and other potential allergens, to make our deodorant suitable for even the most sensitive skin type.
